Mr. Cricut Crazy - Design Team Wednesday

Cupcakes

I have a super quick post today.  I realize I have been missing in action but I am still facing some challenges that I hope to have fixed real soon.  Anyways....I just realized that I didn't share some awesome cupcakes my sister made for my daughter's birthday.  She is super talented in the baking department and I have showcased some of her things on my blog before.  I will create a separate category just for her....Kelly's Creations....so you can check out what she's made.  There are many more things that she has made that I don't have pictures of but you can get the idea.  Here's what she made for my daughter.

I have a couple of projects in the works and will be back to regular posting shortly.  Thank you for the emails wondering where I was.  I am still here and looking forward to getting back to my crafting!

For my project I used the Sports Mania Cricut Cartridge to create my first vinyl project...

This project is now on the back of my husband's truck!  The hockey player is cut from the Sports Mania cartridge at 7" on my gypsy.  The lettering and number is from Birthday Bash and is cut at 1.59".  I am loving the way this turned out.  Especially for my first time using vinyl.  

My second project uses the Go Canada Cricut Cartridge and Elegant Edges Cartridge.  I made a card that is 5" x 5".

The skate is from Go Canada! and all the layers are cut out at 3.12" on my gypsy.

The circle layer is from Elegant Edges and is cut out at 4.18" on my gypsy.  The sentiment comes from My Creative Time's Sports Sentiments stamp set.

My Cricut Craft Room - The Letter E

 

As soon as I saw the theme I knew I had to participate!  For those of you that know me or follow my blog you know I love elephants.  Lucky for me, my adorable neice loves elephants too.  She just had her 4th birthday on the weekend so I just had to make her an elephant card.

And here's the inside....

The elephant is from the Sugar and Spice Cricut Lite Cartridge and is cut out at 2.53" on my gypsy.

My daughter was looking at the layout and thought I should try something different.  She came up with the idea to punch a circle out of the layer piece so that the sentiment would show through.  The sentiment on the front of the card and the inside are from My Creative Time's Wow, So Many Candles stamp set.

My Cricut Craft Room - Get Well Card

Today over at My Cricut Craft Room we could make a get well card or use embossing powders on our card.  I chose to make a Get Well Card.

I decided to make an A2 size card portrait style.  I used the Indie Art cartridge and cut the bandaid at 2.76" on my gypsy.  The center I put on a dimensional.  The little heart is also on a dimensional.  I used a small heart punch but you could easily find a heart on a cricut cartridge and cut it out.  The sentiment comes from My Creative Time's Pain Pain Go Away stamp set.  The clear buttons and punches to match are from Stampin' Up.  I was asking my daughter about the buttons and different choices when I came across my stash of the clear button from Stampin' Up.  I punched out the three shapes and laid the buttons over the shapes and asked my daughter her opinion.  Without a blink of an eye she said...."why don't you use the "x's" but take the one out of the middle and make it an "o" for hugs and kisses since you have a bandaid".  How cute was that!!!!  So....onto the project.....

Going for the Goal!

My son had a project due for school.  For his project he had to create some different types of poems.  Naturally all of his poems are about hockey!  He also had to put the poems in something to hand in and thought of creating some sort of book.  Then he came to me and asked what sports stuff I had for my cricut.  Within seconds he had out my gypsy and was searching.

His first thought was this cut out from Sports Mania...

Second thought....

With the two above he didn't know where or how he would fit his poems on the cut out.  So on to the third and final thought....

If you aren't sure what this is....well it's a hockey puck from the Sports Mania cricut cartridge.  Here are a couple of pictures of his final project.

My Cricut Craft Room - Art Philosophy

Today on My Cricut Craft Room the Design Team had a choice between creating a project with the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge and creating a project with a Theme- Valentines Die cuts.  I decided to try my hand at the Art Philosophy Cartridge since I got it for Christmas and have not had a chance to play with it yet.

For my project I decided to make door hangers.  The cut is on page 25 under the Font Layer.  I used a 12 x 12 piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock and used the fit to page feature on my Cricut Expression.
